Rotherham Heritage Learning Service is looking for a team of enthusiastic and committed volunteers to assist with school sessions at our Heritage sites. The role will include supporting our Education Assistants during school sessions as well as assisting with preparation and setting up of activities.

To assist and support the Education Assistant or Learning Officer in delivering activities to schools, vulnerable adults and other community groups.
To assist the Learning Officer with the preparation of new learning activities when required
To assist with the preparation, setting up and tiding away of learning spaces, equipment and resources for all activities.
To promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and/or vulnerable adults whilst visiting our heritage venues.
To ensure that the needs of all our visitors, pupils, teachers and other learners are met to a consistently high standard.
To follow the health and safety risk assessments for all activities, and to ensure the appropriate use of handling collections and equipment and resources.
An interest in/or knowledge of history
Some previous experience of working with young children
Enthusiastic, reliable and trustworthy and have good communication skills
Able to work without supervision when required
Have good attention to detail
We value all our volunteers and encourage the development of new skills and experience. In house training will be provided on a regular basis to help volunteers develop or enhance their skills.
