Friends of Clifton Park

The Friends of Clifton Park Museum

The group was formed in November 1998 to support the Museum and its staff and to encourage the interest of the local community in both the Museum and their own heritage.

Various project groups have since been set up including the Kitchen Rangers who deliver regular cooking demonstrations on the original Victorian range. These sessions take place once per month on a Saturday apart from during the summer.

The Peggers group meet each Thursday afternoon to work on their latest creation, the rug currently being worked on will go into The York & Lancaster Regimental Museum once it is complete.

Lunchclub talks also take place once a month on a Monday, members visit the cafe and purchase their lunch before going to listen to the monthly speaker at 1.00pm. The programme is varied and covers a wide range of topics.

As a registered charity (number 1088580), the funds raised from the events and activities help to fund projects such as purchasing the rocking zebra in the Lions Den and items for the Museum collection.

If you are interested in joining the Friends please feel free to come along to any of the talks or events or contact the Museum for a membership form.
